FREEDOM VERSES

I believe the Word of God is powerful. I believe its promises are true and can change us. It challenges me, reminds me of who I am and what is important. It breaths freedom and power. I think it is so important to be in the Word, to memorize the Word, and repeat it ourselves. This world is hard. These promises give me peace.

I am sharing three verse that I tend to lean into throughout my gay. They give me hope and strengthen my faith. I hope they speak to your heart, and I would love to hear your favorite promises as well….q1

Philippians 4:11-13 “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

Being content. I think this is something I tend to struggle with daily. Now, with the added stress of social media, we can constantly see all the things we are missing out on and contentment in our own daily life can be that much more of a challenge. What I love about these words are that Paul is saying contentment is something you have to LEARN. It is something that he has learned. No one is born with the gift of contentment …. and it doesn’t matter you situation, contentment comes from within.

Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

Do I simply believe in God- or do I also believe God? Because, if I believe God, I have to believe what he says and here he is promising me all things will work out. Everything will be ok. Yes, this is not Heaven and we will have pain and death and decay in our life, but we live with a hope that even death will be redeemed and made for good in the end. Amen! What hope is that!

1 Corinthians 1:18 “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

I love this! I am around a lot of Non-Christians in my life, that I love and treasure, but my faith won’t make sense to them. They will think I’m foolish. My big dreams, my peace, my comfort, all of it will be bizzare and silly to them… and it should be! People thought Noah was silly building an ark in a desert- we are in good company friends!
